Carl Chaney
MEC Treasurer

Carl J. Chaney was elected as MEC Treasurer for 2010-2011.

Chaney is President & CEO of Hancock Holding Company and Hancock Bank. He is a member of the Mississippi Bankers Association Board of Directors and serves as treasurer and chairman elect. He is also a member of the American Bankers Association, the Florida and Louisiana Bankers Associations, the American Bar Association and the Mississippi State Bar. Chaney is a member of the board of directors of Mississippi Power Company where he is chairman of the Compensation Committee and serves on the Controls and Compliance Committee.

Chaney is a member of the boards of directors of the Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation and the Gulf Coast Business Council. He is past chairman of the Ole Miss Banking and Finance Advisory Board of Directors. He serves as a course coordinator and instructor at the Graduate School of Banking at LSU and received the distinguished faculty award from the Mississippi School of Banking.

Chaney is an honor graduate of the University of Mississippi with a BBA in Banking and Finance and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

He is active in many community activities, including the Gulf Coast Carnival Association and the American Heart Association. He and his wife, Jinx, have three children and reside in Biloxi.
