Why should I join the Mississippi Economic Council, the State's Chamber of Commerce, if I am already a member of my local chamber?

Being a member of your local chamber is an especially important part of your business needs as local chambers deal extremely well with local issues. Being a member of the Mississippi Economic Council, you will get representation on the state level as we shrink the miles that separate us and address your needs at the Capitol. MEC gives you a voice at the Capitol without you having to leave your desk. By having membership to both your local chamber and the State Chamber, you are not duplicating anything and we maintain a great relationship with all the chambers across Mississippi.

My company has cut back on our budget. How can I justify joining the Mississippi Economic Council?

Your company needs representation at the State Capitol. When we make your voice heard in Jackson -- whether to advocate for workforce training, economic development or education -- you will receive great return on your dues investment. Plus, networking opportunities abound at our three biggest meetings with approximately 1,000 in attendance each – Annual Meeting, Hobnob and A Capital Day.

What types of companies join MEC?
