The 2011 session of the Mississippi Legislature is coming down the home stretch, but with two weeks left there still a lot to be decided.

Gaining the most attention is redistricting. Last week the Senate rejected a House plan for redistricting, which was part of a resolution that also included the Senate map. The Senate voted to invite conference to see if a compromise can be reached. It remains to be seen if the House will appoint conferees.

Conference reports on budget bills are due Saturday, while conference reports on general bills face a Monday deadline. Legislators typically work through the weekend on what is commonly refereed to as conference week.
